Who is Emerald City Enhanced Services?
Emerald City Enhanced Services is a small, community-based residential setting designed to provide skilled professional care for adults who require assistance with managing behavioral healthcare. It is a home-like setting similar to an Adult Family Home or an Assisted Living Facility, and residents can enjoy an environment that offers many opportunities for social interaction geared toward providing comfort and privacy in addition to maximizing independence.
Emerald City is a 16-bedroom facility with a large dining area, a few large activities rooms, a couple of living rooms, a covered outside patio, and a gazebo. Hot meals are cooked on-site and snacks are provided round the clock. Mental Health Providers are available and involved every day and Nursing Staff are present on-site 24/7. We are licensed and regulated by DSHS.
Emerald City Enhanced Services Lakewood, Washington. Our flagship property, designed by architects BCRA of Tacoma, Washington and built by Merit Construction here in Lakewood, was placed into service in 2022.
The facility is conveniently located less than 6 miles from Western State Hospital, across from the Lakewood Sounder Station with five different bus routes, and numerous medical facilities including West Pierce Fire & Rescue a few blocks away.

About
Claudia Johnson is the founder of Emerald City Enhanced Services. She is a nurse with a vast array of experience in nursing and long-term care. She has been a critical care nurse for many years at the Portland VA Hospital. She worked at Western State Hospital in 2021 so she can get to know the people she will serve. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), and she holds many specialized nursing certifications and has previous experience owning and operating her own memory care home. She is also an honorably discharged Air Force 2nd Lt - Nurse Corps Officer. She has a passion for serving her community and the people coming into her facility as she believes they had the power all along to become independent and successfully reintegrate into the community. She is here to facilitate a smooth transition and empower her people to attain their goals. Claudia wants the residents joining Emerald City to know this is their Emerald City where they will discover they had the power all along.
